Private tours and instruction.
Visit spectacular, off-the-beaten-path locations and learn to make the most out of your camera, both in everyday scenes as well as in the heat of the sunset moment. We may visit some of my “secret” locations, for which no information exists on the Internet.
Typical tuitions for 1-on-1 tours are:
$550 for a half-day, full-afternoon/evening session
$800 for a full day workshop, including sunrise and sunset shoots
Inquire for a quote for multi-day private photo tours
At this time, I do not offer organized group workshops. Many artists offer these as they make excellent cash cows. I prefer to work one-on-one, because this is about YOU. You will get far more out of a private session than a group one.

learn to transform your photos into your visions
Digital "vision" sessions and portfolio reviews.
Digital “vision” sessions and portfolio reviews will teach you the tools in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to allow you to turn the files you capture with your camera into the visuals you envision.
These are currently offered as in-person and Zoom tutorials (in-person preferred). You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. I do not record my sessions, but I do not prohibit you from doing so for your own personal use. You will, of course, be provided with layered TIFF files for any images we process together. I also provide two complimentary image critiques, following the session (unlimited ‘within reason’ for Escaype members).
I am happy to teach basic and advanced techniques, like exposure blending for dynamic range, focus, perspective, and time; raw processing, transformations, and working light. However, all of this can be learned for free on the internet, and my colleagues’ mass-produced processing videos. Instead, my sessions heavily emphasize developing your vision, and finding your path as an artist. It is my belief that working with you to develop your own unique processing style is far more meaningful than simply teaching you how to copy mine. This is why my fees are what they are: our one-on-one experience will change your work forever.
If you are looking for help with Sony files, we expect you to purchase and install our medium rare profiles. If you don’t have them, we’ll help you install them together at the start of our session. This is because our profiles are absolutely paramount in working with Sony files, and they are necessary for the best results.
Tuition: $175/hr. $150/hr for Escaypers. 2 hour minimum. Travel fees may apply for off-site sessions. For most clients, I suggest 1-2 sessions of around 2-3hrs to gain a rock-solid foundation. I will leave you with plenty to practice at home.

Weather instruction for photography
Weather instruction for photography. The first step towards making an excellent landscape image is to be in the right place at the right time. My weather tips and light predicting methods are designed to help photographers of all backgrounds -- scientifically inclined or not -- in identifying and forecasting optimal light.
You will be hard-pressed to find another individual in the industry who can teach you one-on-one from the eyes of BOTH a degreed meteorologist AND a professional landscape artist.
These sessions are offered in person and over Zoom; tuition is $175/hour. $150/hour for Escaype members. 2 hour minimum.
